
Sweet Potato, Peas & Rice (Baby Food)
A balanced meal is what I like for my little one, and this sweet potato, peas and rice recipe is the perfect balanced lunch. This recipe is great for a 8 month old + baby.

Ingredients
1 tbsp oil
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 tsp garlic, finely chopped
1/4 cup sweet potatoes, chopped
3 tbsp frozen peas
1 bay leaf
3 tbsp Daawat Basmati Rice, washed
2 cups water
Pinch of grated nutmeg
Instructions

Heat oil in a pot. Add onions and cook until translucent.

Add the garlic and cook for another 30-45 seconds.

Add the sweet potatoes, peas, rice and bay leaf. Stir and let cook for 2-3 minutes. Add water and stir. Let simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice has cooked and sweet potatoes and peas have softened.

Remove the bay leaf (very important) and grate some nutmeg.

Mash the mixture using a potato masher or blend into a thick soup using a blender. Serve warm (it should be warm to the touch, always taste it to check for temperature before giving it to your baby).
I love sweet potatoes with strong tea in the morning and evening.
