One Pot Spaghetti

Who doesn’t like a one-pot wonder? Less clean up and less cooking time. My one pot spaghetti is perfect for you! In this simple recipe that is quite famous around the internet, I brown my meat before I add all the ingredients to the pot. I’ve always liked to create layers of flavour to my dishes and although it’s a one-pot wonder, I wasn’t going to take the easy way and boil my meat along with the spaghetti and all the ingredients, so here is my version. Bon appétit!

Ingredients

3 tbsp olive oil
300 grams mutton, minced
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
10-12 button mushrooms, cut into quarters
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
2 tbsp dried mixed herbs
2-3 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 can tomatoes
3-4 basil leaves, chopped
200 grams Daawat Spaghetti
4 cups water
100 grams mozzarella cheese, grated

Instructions

1
In a pot, heat olive oil and add the minced meat. Make sure to break it apart as it cooks and season with salt and pepper. Let cook for 6-8 minutes or until all the meat has browned.
2
Add the mushrooms, onion, bell peppers, mixed herbs, garlic, tomatoes, basil, spaghetti and water and stir. Cover and let simmer for 8-10 minutes or until al dente.
3
Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and mix in so that it melts into the spaghetti. Serve warm with a sprinkle of freshly torn basil leaves.
