Mushroom & Peas Pilau
Mushroom and peas in rice? What more do you want?! I love this super simple pilau recipe with mushrooms that is a great dish for vegetarians and to use up left over rice.
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 medium onion, chopped
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
1 cup boiled peas
1 tbsp pilau masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 1/2 cups Daawat Basmati Rice, cooked
Coriander leaves, for garnishing
Heat oil in a pot and add the cumin seeds. Once they splatter, add the onions and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the mushrooms, salt and pepper and stir. Add the peas, pilau masala and turmeric powder and stir.
Add the cooked rice and stir. Let cook for 3-5 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle coriander over the rice and serve.
