Hot Dog Fried Rice
This hot dog fried rice is a budget friendly meal with big flavours and just amazing for using up that left over rice from the previous meal.
3 hot dogs, cut into half lengthwise and then sliced
3 tbsp oil + 1 tbsp oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 carrots, chopped
1/2 cup peas, boiled
2 cups Daawat Basmati Rice, cooked/leftover
2 tbsp light soy sauce
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
Spring onions, chopped
Heat oil in a wok or heavy bottomed pan and add the onions. Once they turn translucent, add the garlic and stir.
Add the carrots, peas and hot dog slices and then cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the rice and soy sauce and let heat through. Push the rice to one side of the pan. On the empty side, add 1 tbsp oil and crack the eggs in it.
Season with salt and pepper and scramble the eggs for 1 minute and then mix with the rice. Add the spring onions and stir.
