Classic-Spaghetti-&-Meatballs

Classic Spaghetti & Meatballs

Make this into a kids friendly recipe as you get the kids to help you roll out the meatballs. This recipe has a little twist in which I add some sausage meat to make it even more flavourful. I lay tomato sauce on some beautifully cooked spaghetti and then top with the meatballs. Just perfect!

Classic-Spaghetti-&-Meatballs

Ingredients

300 grams minced lamb
2-3 pork/chicken sausages, remove meat from the skin
3 tsp garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup parsley, roughly chopped
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
Salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp dried parsley
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 cans of tomatoes, crushed
150 grams Daawat Spaghetti, cooked

Instructions

1
In a bowl, mix the lamb mince, sausage meat, garlic, onion, egg, parsley, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs and salt and pepper.
2
Take 1 tbsp of the mixture into your palms and form a round ball.
3
Place the meat balls onto a baking tray lined with baking paper, drizzle some olive oil and bake in an oven preheated at 180C for 20-25 minutes or until browned.
4
For the sauce, heat olive oil and add parsley, oregano and garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
5
Add the tomatoes, salt and pepper and let simmer for 10-12 minutes.
6
To serve, place the boiled spaghetti in your serving dish, top with meat balls and the lovely tomato sauce.
