
Vegetarian Steamed Dumplings (Steamed Muthiya)
These Vegetarian steamed dumplings also called steamed Muthiya are one of those meals that most Indian families have on the weekends. They are super easy to cook and make the best use of left over rice.

Ingredients
1 cup left over cooked rice
1/2 cup gram flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp garlic paste
Salt to taste
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp sugar
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1 tbsp oil
1/4 cup water

In a large bowl, mix together all the above ingredients. It should form a soft dough.

Scoop 1 tbsp of the dough into your palms and shape into the classic dumpling shape. Place in a bamboo steamer over some hot water and steam for 15-20 minutes. Serve.
