Simple Fish Biryani

I almost always have some Tilapia fish in my freezer since my little one loves it so much so this biryani recipe is one of those that I make very often. It is such a simple recipe and yet so scrumptious. It is also one of the easiest and quickest biryani you will ever make.

Simple-Fish-Biryani

Ingredients

3 Tilapia Fish Fillets, sliced into 2 inch pieces
1/4 cup onion paste
1 tsp garlic paste
2 tsp ginger paste
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tbsp + 3/4 cup natural yoghurt
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
1/2 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp fried onions
3 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
1 1/2 cups Daawat Aromatic Rice, Cooked
Fried onions, for garnishing
Chopped coriander leaves, for garnishing

Instructions

In a bowl, mix together fish, onion paste, ginger paste, garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, 1 tbsp yoghurt and salt. Let marinate for 20 minutes.

Heat oil in pan and add the fish with all the marinade. Cook for 4-5 minutes and take out of the heat and into a bowl.

In to the bowl, add the remaining yoghurt, heavy cream, fried onions and coriander leaves and stir.

Place the cooked rice over a low flame and layer the fish over the rice. Garnish with fried onions and coriander leaves and cover the pot with a lid.

Let steam on low heat for 10 minutes. Mix the rice and fish and serve.
