Rice Pudla (Savoury Indian Pancakes)

Indian pancakes are a staple in almost every Indian household. This is because of how quick they are to make, use up all the left over rice and often use ingredients that are already available in the pantry. This recipe of Rice Pudla or Savoury Indian Pancakes is exactly the definition above.

Rice-Pudla-Indian-Savoury-Pancakes

Ingredients

1 cup Daawat Basmati Rice, cooked/left over
1 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup gram flour
3/4 cup plain yoghurt
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chili powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp oil
Coriander leaves, chopped
1 cup water

Instructions

In a bowl, mix together all the ingredients except water.

Once combined, stir in water a little at a time to avoid forming lumps.

Using a ladle, pour in one scoop at a time over a griddle with 1 tbsp oil and lightly flatten and shape the pancakes using the back of the ladle.

Let cook for 1 minute on each side or until nicely browned.

Serve with plain yoghurt, pickle or your favorite curry. You can even have it on its own or with a cup of tea.
